PREORDER Final Gravity, A Beer Zine Issue 13
Issue 13 of Final Gravity, a print beer zine that shares personal, human-centered stories from the world of beer, is now available for preorder and will ship the first week of August. Preorders get free domestic shipping!
Rather than a typical glossy beer mag, Final Gravity is an old school stapled zine, but with paid writing and art. It tells the stories that don’t often make it into the pages of beer magazines, the stories that together weave the fabric of the collective beer experience.
In this issue, Alisha Miranda takes us behind the scenes of Puerto Rico’s growing craft beer scene, examining both the unique challenges and opportunities faced by the island’s small brewers.
Anaïs Lecoq profiles art-focused and -inspired French brewery Fauve Craft Bière, where every new beer label is a canvas on which their expansive stable of artists can express themselves.
Melinda Guerra talks about the unique camaraderie and mutual support experienced in [usually] women’s restrooms at bars and breweries, and how some establishments are leaning into this by offering support literature, period supplies, and other provisions in these spaces.
Christopher A. Smith takes us to his beloved New Orleans to take the city’s temperature at a point when ICE was preparing a terror campaign in a city’s whose very identity is built on multi-cultural celebration.
Here’s the complete list of stories in this issue:
Travel Companions: On Leaving, Lager, and Loss by Dean Brightman

For each issue of Final Gravity, we select a non-profit that either works in or around the beer and hospitality industries or is local to us here in Dayton, Ohio, to support financially. This issue’s beneficiaries are the Free Flo Box and Period Kits Ohio, which both work to provide period supplies and education to those who need it.
We believe passionately in the Final Gravity project, in the importance of independent print media, and in the DIY tradition of zine publishing. We hope you’ll enjoy this issue of Final Gravity.
This zine is 8.5” x 5.5”, 56 full-color pages, and staple-bound. Despite being a grassroots, DIY zine, it features paid writing and artwork.
