This zine is a tribute to a Map Chocolate’s Starry Night bar, a 60% Belize dark chocolate made with pine bud syrup, sugared fir tips, and Scandinavian sea salt.
Map Chocolate, an erstwhile bean to bar chocolate company from Oregon, was opened by Mackenzie Rivers in 2014. I found Map early in my craft chocolate journey, and Mackenzie’s creative spirit was as influential on me as her chocolate was.
Mackenzie shut down Map in 2025, and now devotes her time to educating chocolate makers through The Next Batch School.
