Introducing the Bean to Barstool Guide to Bocks Zine!

Exciting news: there’s a new beer zine in the Bean to Barstool shop! The Bean to Barstool Guide to Bocks zine is a fun and colorful guide to Bock beer styles.

This 24-page, full-color stapled zine by Advanced Cicerone© David Nilsen explores the world of Bock beer styles. The zine looks at the history of Bocks, then highlights each major Bock style, looking at flavor profiles, history, ingredients and processes, commercial examples, and quantitative judging parameters for both BJCP and Brewers Association descriptions. Pairing guidance is given for cheese, chocolate, desserts, and main dishes.

The highlight of the zine is an exclusive 8-page interview with Mari and Will Kemper of Chuckanut Brewery conducted in January 2023. Chuckanut is one of the best lager breweries in the country, and brews both a Dunkles Bock, Maibock, and Doppelbock. This interview has not been (and will not be) published anywhere besides this zine, so this is the only place to hear one of the best lager brewers in the country break down what it takes to brew good (and bad) Bocks.

Pick up the zine now in the Bean to Barstool shop, and use it to learn more about these historic beer styles!
